Georgia Presented as Tourist Destination in Thessaloniki
Thessaloniki, November 30, 2016 - A presentation of business and investment opportunities in Georgia and its viability as a tourist destination was held Monday, November 28th at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Thessaloniki.
The event was organized by the Georgian embassy, the Georgian Consulate in Thessaloniki and the Mouzenidis Group, with entrepreneurs and members of the city's consular missions participating by invitation.
The evening began with a few words of welcome by the Ambassador of Georgia to Greece, Mr. Ioseb Nanobashvili and the Director of International Economic Relations of the Department of the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. A. Khvtisiashvili.
During the evening, Mr. Nanobashvili publicly recognized the President of the Mouzenidis Group, Mr. Boris Mouzenidis, in appreciation for the corporation's contributions to the promotion of Georgia as a tourist destination. Attendees saw a video about Georgia shot and edited by Mouzenidis Group film makers which reflects the natural beauty and rich culture of Georgia.
The Georgian Ambassador then analyzed the economic and investment profile of his country, illustrating the favorable business environment for Greek investors. He invited the guests to contact the Embassy in Athens and the consulate in Thessaloniki for more information, and also invited them to visit Georgia.
Attendees were also able to sample Georgian cuisine and wines. The evening ended with live Georgian music and a demonstration of traditional Georgian dances.
Reporters from Georgian TV channel Pirveli covered the event for the Georgian media. As part of their visit they will film Thessaloniki, Pieria and Kalambaka, highlighting the area for the Georgian television audience.
