International Students Converge on Heraklion, Crete
And no, they're not there to party. These are serious students- 600 of them. They're participants in Erasmus (a European-based university exchange student program). They spilled out onto the streets of the Cretan capital, and participated in a "friendship walk" which terminated at the port. The trip to Crete was organized by the Federation of Erasmus Students (ESN in Greece) with the support of regional officials of Crete.
The students were given the opportunity to tour the island's beauties, and to highlight multiculturalism.
During their four-day stay the students visited Crete's most important sites, created new friendships, and imbibed in Cretan hospitality, as well as looking forward to doing it all over again next year.
