Positive Signs For Greek Tourism from Serbia
Serbian Ambassador Dusan Spasojevic estimates that at least a million Serbs will be packing their bags and heading for holidays in Greece this year, Mr. Spasojevic said during a visit to Volvi in northern Halkidiki, accompanied by Thessaloniki's Serbian counsel Shcinicha Pavic.
Usually, yearly Serb visitors to Greece top out at around 700,000, but many will be heading to Greece instead of Turkey this year. Volvi, on the lake of the same name, is a favorite tourist destination for Serbs.
Mr. Spasojevic also met with local governmental tourist representatives in Halkidiki seaside resort Asprovalta and made remarks referring to the close ties between the two Eastern Orthodox countries, and expressing desires for future cooperation between the two countries.
