Everything's Ready for the Seajets Acropolis Rally
They're starting their engines and getting them warm for the Seajets Acropolis Rally, set to start in 10 days, with a total of 82 crews which will start the race at the Leonidas Monument at Thermopylae, 200km from Athens. The numbers of entrants this year exceeded all expectations, with 35 crews competing for the European-wide championship, and 47 for the Greek Championship.
There are 29 international participants, double last year's number, with world-class names like Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Alexey Lukyanuk, both driving Ford Fiesta R5s. Of the Greek participants, Lambros Athanassoulas andNikos Zacchaeus, with their Skoda Fabia R5, will seek victory at the General Level, in which they placed 3rd last year.
Also of interest is the ERC-2, in which the skills of Chuchala-Dymurski, Scattolon-Zanini and Alonso-Monasterolo, will be tested. Because the Seajets rally will be two contests in one, European and Greek, the 47 contenders for the Greek championship will be at the starting line as well. The free trial launch will take place near Thermopylae, at the Lamia Industrial Park, at 8:30 PM. The kickoff ceremony will be held at Thermopylae at 6:30 PM.
