Increase of 10.3% in Air Travelers to Greece First 5 Months 2016
The total number of passengers travelling through Greek airports for the first five months of 2016 represents an increase of 10.3% compared to the same time period last year. From January to May, 2016, 13.6 million passengers traveled through Greek airports from January-May of this year compared to 12.3 million last year from January-May. The number of flights reached 134,305, a 5.3% increase.
Greek airports with the most traffic included, from largest to least, 1.8 million in Athens, 723,000 in Heraklion, Crete, 523,000 in Thessaloniki, 507,000 in Rhodes, and 320,000 in Chania, Crete.
