Tomb Jewelry Discovered By Youths In Zagori
Zagori, northwest Greece, recently saw the discovery of a tomb by youngsters playing basketball. The area around the court had seen water and snow damage from the winter, which uncovered the tomb entrance. 18 year-old Nikos Tsoumanis, while fetching the ball which had bounced off the court, noticed the stone slab covering the tome, which archeologists have dated from the Byzantine era.
Rings and bracelets were discovered in addition to the bones on the deceased. The youngsters immediately informed local police, who secured the area for archeologists, who sealed the tomb ending further research.
