GTP: Vogue Australia Names Milos in Top 5 2017 Destinations
Greet Travel Pages (GTP) reports that the Australian edition of Vogue magazine has listed the Cycladic island of Milos among its top five destinations for this year. Calling it an "undiscovered paradise," Milos was recently featured in an issue of Vogue Australia by travel writer Maria Paradisis in an article featuring her picks for the "most stylish – and Instagrammable – picks for where to travel to this year," according to GTP.
She cites the volcanic origins of the island, and the over 70 beaches, including the bizarre moonscape of Saranikio Beach, and Kelftiko, which she identifies as "an old pirate hangout." In addition Paradisis mentions the island as the place where the world-famous Venus de Milo statue was found, which is now on display at the Louvre.
The other four destination chosen by Paradisis are Cartagena on the northern coast of Colombia, the “tea trails” in Sri Lanka, the small town of Taormina in Sicily, Italy and Dubrovnik in Dalmatia, Croatia.
