Greek air passenger traffic way up thus far compared to 2016

The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority reported on Wednesday that passenger traffic through Greek airports increased by 10.1% in January-April 2017 from the same period last year.

 9,275,894 passengers traveled through Greek airports during the first four months of the year compared to 8,427,013 during the same period in 2016. Overall, a total of 848,881 passed through Greek airports in the first four months of 2017.

Airports of Paros, Mykonos and Zakynthos saw the largest increase in passengers during the first four months of the year compared to 2016. Paros Airport saw passenger traffic increase by 111.3 percent year-to-year to 18,028 passengers and was followed by Mykonos Airport that recorded a 79.2 percent growth to 74,821 passengers. The airport on Zakynthos recorded an increase of 58.5 percent to 25,205 passengers.

In April alone, Greek airports serviced 3,295,782 passengers, an increase of 17.1 percent compared to the same month in 2016.
