Russian Transport Minister Visits Thessaloniki International Book Fair
Russia is the guest of honor at the 13th annual Thessaloniki International Book Fair which opened on May 12th. Maxim Sokolov, Russia's Transport Minister, came to the fair as a representative of the country being honored. He's also representing the Joint Interministerial Committee of Greece and Russia, and helped inaugurate the Russian pavilion at the fair. Present also was Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Mardas and the Russain ambassador to Greece Andrei Maslov.
Mr. Sokolov appeared very happy at the opening of the Russian pavilion as he thanked the organizers "for the opportunity given to Russia to participate in the International Book Fair as guest of honor." The Russian pavilion is not only displaying books but will be organizing events during the four-day fair running from May 12-15, including short courses in Russian. The minister seemed pleased to see books related to transport on display and expressed his desire to all present to have interesting meetings and a successful fair.
