South Aegean Region is Candidate for the 2019 European Culinary Region

CulinaryThe Region of the South Aegean has been put forward as a candidate for international culinary distinction by the director of the South Aegean, Mr. Georgios Hatzimarkos in Arhus, Denmark.

This puts the South Aegean on the gastronomic map and promotes its culture, gastronomic tourism, arts, and general tourism, all of which goes towards promoting local products.

The award is organized by IGCAT (International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) with support from European institutions, and aims to help local communities to realize the potential of food, culture, arts and sustainable tourism.
