May 9: VE Day celebrated in Thessaloniki

VE Day is celebrated with great splendor in Russia on May 9 as the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. In Thessaloniki, the annual ceremony was held that day with the ceremonial laying of wreaths at the monuments of Russian and Serbian soldiers at the Zétenlic Cemetery in Stavroupoli, Thessaloniki, the largest military cemetery in the Balkans.
